‘’Make in India’’ Evening in Warsaw

A glittering ‘’Make in India’’ Evening at the Hotel Intercontinental on Monday showcased a multi-media presentation on the ‘’Make in India’’ campaign, launched earlier in the morning in Warsaw at a business seminar. The invited audience at the evening comprised CEO’s of select Polish companies, officials and opinion-makers. The evening provided an eclectic mix of Make in India films, business conversation, yoga, culture, Indian and Polish cuisine. It marked the culmination of the Make in India Road Show that came to Warsaw for a day, in the run up to India’s large-scale participation in the Hannover Messe in April.

Speaking to the distinguished gathering, the Chief Guest, Polish Deputy Minister of Economy, Mr Jerzy Pietrewicz, applauded India’s outreach programmes in Poland and underlined the Polish government’s complete support. Mr Pietrewicz said that he was personally enthused by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for transforming India into an economic behemoth. Joint Secretary in charge of the ‘’Make in India’’ campaign, Mr Atul Chaturvedi, emphasised India’s resolve to transform the business landscape to boost manufacturing growth in India. Ambassador of India, Mr Ajay Bisaria, outlined India’s plans to soar to a trajectory of double digit growth through initiatives like Make in India. He also commended Poland’s early engagement with India, particularly through the proposed ‘’Go India’’ scheme, to innovatively become part of the new India economic story.

Earlier in the day, the Make in India Road Show saw various industry speakers and government officials brainstorming on India’s Make in India programme. The business seminar was followed by G2B and B2B meetings. India and Poland stand at the cusp of sustained, resilient cooperation in the economic domain, with a series of business events coming up in the next few months.
