Visit of Prime Minister Butkevicius of Lithuania for the Make in India Week
The Prime Minister of Lithuania, H.E. Mr. Algirdas Butkevicius, will lead a high-level delegation to India from 12 to 16 February 2016, to participate in the first Make in India Week in Mumbai. The delegation will include senior officials and leaders of business agencies of Lithuania.
The Make in India Week will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It will showcase the people, policies and partnerships that are driving India’s new manufacturing revolution. The event will offer foreign investors and businesses unprecedented access, insights and opportunities to showcase, connect and collaborate with Indian and global industry leaders/visionaries, academicians, and government officials at the central and state levels.
Prime Minister Butkevicius is scheduled to have bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He is expected to hold meetings also with other important Central and State-level leaders in India. He will interact extensively with the Indian business community to highlight potential areas of bilateral cooperation. Apart from Mumbai, Prime Minister Butkevicius will also visit Delhi and Kolkata. He will inaugurate the new Honorary Consulate of Lithuania in Kolkata.
Trade between India and Lithuania stands at a level of USD 215 million. The countries have a warm and friendly relationship since diplomatic relations were established in 1992.
